Taste of Europe was launched by five consortiums from Italy’s Emilia Romagna region: Consorzio Tutela del Lambrusco di Modena (Consortium for the Protection of the Modena Lambrusco); Consorzio Vini di Romagna (Consortium of Romagna Wines); Consorzio per la Tutela e la Promozione dei vini DOP Reggiano e Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa (Consortium for the Protection and Promotion of PDO Reggiano and Colli di Scandiano e Canossa Wines); Consorzio Tutela Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena DOP (Consortium for the Protection of the PDO Modena Traditional Balsamic Vinegar); Consorzio del Prosciutto di Modena DOP (Consortium for the PDO Modena Ham).

Consorzio Tutela del Lambrusco di Modena
The Consorzio Tutela del Lambrusco di Modena is a non-profit association set up according to Ministerial Decree n. 256 dated 4th June 1997. It is a member of FEDERDOC, the National Consortium Federation for the Protection of Italian Wine Designations This consortium protects the interests of Lambrusco producers authorising the labels of “Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC”, “Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce”, “Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro” and “Modena” or “Modena province”.

Consorzio Vini di Romagna
Consorzio Vini di Romagna represents wineries from Romagna, the eastern part of Emilia-Romagna, which extends from Bologna to Rimini. Since the times of the Roman Empire , this area has been famous for its vine-growing and wine-making tradition. Founded 50 years ago, the consortium now comprises 250 certified wine makers and 116 partner wineries. It promotes this land and its culture on international markets, playing a fundamental role for the protection and guarantee of local wine quality.

Consorzio per la Tutela e la Promozione dei vini DOP Reggiano e Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa
The Consorzio per la Tutela e la Promozione dei vini DOP Reggiano e Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa was officially established in March 2001 from the union between the Consorzio per la Tutela dei vini DOC Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa (founded in 1976) and the Consorzio per la Tutela del vino DOC Reggiano (founded in 1971). Together, they protect and promote the Reggiano PDO wines, following a tradition which goes back a long time.

Consorzio Tutela Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena DOP
The Consorzio Tutela Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena DOP members are institutions, producers and associations focused on the same specific objectives: guaranteeing product quality, market promotion and the protection not only of the product designation itself but also of the wealth of the entire cultural heritage of Modena traditions. Indeed, while the grapes constitute the primary raw material of balsamic vinegar, it is the patient, ancient skill of the people of Modena that has resulted in superlative products.

Consorzio del Prosciutto di Modena DOP
The Consorzio del Prosciutto di Modena DOP was established on a voluntary basis in 1969. Since then, its activities have been directed to safeguarding and promoting Modena ham, a product with very ancient roots, probably dating to the Bronze Age. In particular, the consortium activities are aimed to preserving the organoleptic and nutritional characteristics of the product, providing the consumer with the guarantee of wholesomeness and genuineness required of a typical product.
